  DEVELOPMENT

The community -through the Community Council of Kiti -has proceeded during the past 15 years, after the creations of its own work-site, to the execution of several infrastructure projects such as the setting of sidewalks in the entire road network, asphalt paving, the construction of sewers for pluvial water, parking lots, verdant areas, playgrounds, and parks.

Quite a lot of work has also been done in the sector of cleanliness through the purchase of a broom for the sweeping of streets and machines for the preservation of cleanliness in all the privately owned and public areas.

In the sector of promoting a healthy pastime for the youth, it has proceeded to the construction of modern sports' grounds (basketball, volley ball, and handball playgrounds) and to the placing of turf in the community stadium.

Some of the projects scheduled for execution in the near future are:

1.
The completion of the project around the church of "Panagia Aggeloktisti"

2.
The reconditioning of the community's 1st Elementary School.

3.
The reconditioning and utilisation of the 2nd Elementary School.

4.
The shaping of the community's plaza through the construction of paved areas, areas of green, a playground, fountains, and modulation according to the setting of all the structures that border with it.

5.
Construction of a sewerage system.

6.
Expansion and shaping of the cemetery.

7.
Development of the tourism zone through the construction of roads, sidewalks, strips of green, and projects for the coast's protection from corrosion.

We believe that the community's future is favourable and that the prospects for development are great.

The small distance from Larnaca and the International Airport, the beach that surrounds the community, and several other serious reasons favour a large development of building and tourism, which will come -we believe -quite soon.
